Cruising along the Danube was the best, watching the shoreline change, watching the water, seeing people onshore (from people camping to cyclists and rollerblade skaters keeping up with the boat), and of course seeing amazing castles, vineyards and scenery enroute. The locks we went through were amazing. Seeing how the boats were maneuvered in beside each other was interesting, and watching it all happen was fascinating. Meeting people was truly a highlight, and the crew all felt like they were genuinely interested in us. The food was consistently great, white wine better than the red. The port stops sometimes felt way too short. Nevertheless the tours given were always full and very interesting.

First cruise: Very professionally done in all aspects staff accomodating and respectful food/wine excellent boating aspect very relaxing Good weather helped shore excursions done well considering time restrictions shore excursion guides all excellent Though we did go on one or two options, feedback from friends who did was that value for money questionable (eg..wine tour)

Everything exceeded our expectations including the accommodation, food, efficiency and attitude of the staff. Shore excursions were well organized and value for money. The ship was bright, clean with excellent lounge and dining facilities. Included transfers to and from airports were excellent with a representative at the airport on the flight home to ensure check in etc. was easy. No improvements come to mind!

The ship was excellent, the staff, the rooms, the food - great attention to detail. The tours were very well organized and the staff was always there to answer questions and give suggestions. We liked the size of the boat (188 passengers) making it very easy to meet new people. We visited some fantastic cities, the weather was perfect and we saw some great sites. Overall it was an excellent holiday! I would have no hestiation to recommend a river cruise with VIking.
