About the Ship
Viking Rurik offers 12-night voyages between St. Petersburg and Moscow that include a two-night hotel stay in Moscow, three overnights in St. Petersburg and tours of landmarks such as the Kremlim, Red Square and the Hermitage. The ship also calls at culture-filled villages and unique towns along the way, such as Yaroslavl, Uglich and Goritzy. There, highlights include grand monuments and opulent palaces, fortified monasteries and beautiful cathedrals.
The ship was refurbished in May 2012 and features four suites, two junior suites, 60 veranda cabins and 32 deluxe cabins. All upper deck and middle deck cabins have private verandas, and all cabins boast air conditioning, private bathroom, refrigerator with bottled water replenished daily, telephone, hair dryer and 26-inch Sony flat-panel TV with a variety of English-language programming.
Onboard spaces include an observation lounge and two bars, restaurant, sun deck, library, onboard boutique and medical facility. Also available are an elevator, free in-cabin Internet and laundry service.
Onboard activities can include things like hands-on crafts and cooking classes, performance of traditional folk music and dance and tastings of local cheeses, coffees and wines.
Viking River's cruise fares are all-inclusive meaning that all meals; wine, beer and soft drinks at lunch and dinner; onboard activities; shore excursions; and Internet are included in the price of your cruise fare.
