Experience the fusion of tradition and modernity in Magdeburg! The capital of Saxony-Anhalt, this medieval city has a population of 230,000. Despite being ravaged by wars throughout the past millennia, Magdeburg has remained constant as a beacon of culture and architectural grandeur.
Situated alongside the Elbe River, Magdeburg makes the most of its waterside location. Most of its parks are located next to the river so that visitors can easily swim, water ski or kayak. Unwind afterward with a meal and a drink at one of the many riverside cafes. The city is famously bike-friendly and has cycling lanes on most roads, as well as a parkland bike path along the river. If cycling isn’t your style, you can spend a relaxing day aboard one of the many river cruises and see Magdeburg from a new perspective.
Don't miss out on the Museum of Nature, Cultural History Museum, or the Monastery of Our Lady Museum of Art. The Magdeburg Cathedral has been the focal point of the city for over 800 years and is another must-see. It's not just the architecture that is significant; Emperor Otto I is buried in the adjoining abbey. The city is also famous for the Green Citadel, a futuristic landmark that holds many shops and restaurants. The Millenium Tower is the third tallest wooden building in the world and holds an experiential science museum.
The city offers a seemingly endless amount of activities to fill your day. Herrenkrug, Magdeburg’s leisure area, offers everything from horse racing to golf. Try your luck at Magdeburg Casino or buy souvenirs in the historic Breiter Weg und Ernst-Reuter-Allee districts.

Had a noisy neighbour - radio on from 4am - manager did not do anything. The bathroom could do with more tiles anti slip outside the ...
Nice clean place with modern aesthetic and decor. Excellent breakfast. Rooms are smallish with no closet for hanging clothes. Nice otherwise.
Very nice hotel and the breakfast was wonderful. Within walking distance of many restaurants. Room was very comfortable and clean.
Lovely staff is always happy to help, public transport (tram) nearby. Good breakfast. Clean rooms (smoking available which is a rarity in Germany :-) ).
Nice room, and tasty breakfast. Close to A14 motor way, it is convenient if you drive.

There is no AC so rooms facing west have no chance for cooling in the summer until late at night with the windows open. There was an outside party with live band at the nearby ...
