The Bills began play as an original franchise of the American Football League (AFL) in 1960 and joined the NFL during the 1970 season. The Bills are the only team to win four consecutive conference championships and the only to lose four consecutive Super Bowl games. The team was owned by Ralph Wilson from their founding in 1960, until his death in 2014 at age 95. After his death, ownership was transferred to Terry and Kim Pegula, who currently possess the team. The Bills formerly had the longest active playoff droughts in any of the four major professional sports in North America: not qualifying for the playoffs from 1999 to 2017. The Bills ended this drought after upsetting the Cincinnati Bengals 22-16. They unfortunately lost the wild card game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but making an appearance in the postseason was surely an improvement for the franchise.
The 2018 season marked the Buffalo Bills’ 59th season, and head coaches Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane’s second. The Bills unfortunately could not improve upon their 9-7 record from the previous season, ultimately marking a 6-10 record for this year. They were eliminated from playoff contention after a loss to the New York Jets in Week 13. However, Bills fans do remain loyal to their team, and are always excited to see what's in store for the upcoming season. Don’t wait to buy your Buffalo Bills tickets here!Back to top
